SELECTION & PROJECT PLANNING

Choosing LED Vapor Tight Lights

Compare the illustrated differences below, then confirm the selected model and site requirements before ordering.

Dust exposureMoisture exposureTemperature range
Different exposures require different documented ratings.

01

Identify the actual exposure

  • List dust, condensation, cleaning methods and ambient temperature separately.
  • A sealed appearance or IP rating alone does not prove washdown or chemical suitability.
  • Match materials, seals and the manufacturer’s stated environment to the site.
Surface fitSuspension fitMaintenance access
Conceptual installation arrangement; available options vary by model.

02

Plan access along each fixture row

  • Check mounting points and obstacles along the row.
  • Leave access to clips, drivers and connections for maintenance.
  • Coordinate voltage and controls without assuming that every sealed fixture is dimmable.

BEFORE YOU ORDER

LED Vapor Tight Lights questions

Confirm model-specific requirements before ordering.

Does vapor-tight mean suitable for every wet area?

No. Confirm the exact wet- or damp-location listing, ingress-protection rating and installation conditions. The product name alone does not establish suitability for washdown or chemical exposure.

Can vapor-tight lights be used in cold storage?

Check the operating-temperature range, seals, driver and any control limitations against the lowest temperature and condensation conditions at the site.

Are these lights suitable for food-processing rooms?

Verify the required hygiene, environmental and certification requirements for the room. A sealed enclosure is not by itself a food-safety certification.

How should the fixtures be mounted?

Use the mounting method and hardware specified for the exact model, keeping the seals and entry points intact. Confirm ceiling structure and service access.

Can occupancy controls be added?

Only with a compatible driver, sensor and wiring arrangement. Review the control interface and environmental rating of both the fixture and any added control.
