LED T8 Bulk Orders: Count Lamps, Packs and Spare Stock

Turn fixture counts into a tube order without confusing individual lamps, packs or different retrofit specifications.

A bulk tube order should begin with individual lamp quantities. Pack quantities come afterward. Keeping these units separate helps prevent ordering too few lamps or multiplying a pack count twice.

Count by fixture group

For each zone, multiply the number of fixtures by the lamps per fixture. Keep different lengths, cover options and approved models on separate rows. For example, 70 fixtures with three lamps each require 210 tubes before any spare stock. Do not combine unlike SKUs just because their total fits a larger pack.

Add an explicit spare allowance

Set the spare quantity with the facility team based on storage space, maintenance plans and the number of locations served. There is no universal spare percentage for every project. Label this quantity separately so everyone can see the installed requirement and the maintenance stock.

Convert lamps into packs

If the approved requirement is 230 identical tubes and the selected option contains 30 tubes per pack, eight packs provide 240 tubes. The extra ten should be recorded as additional stock. If buying a 60-Pack or 90-Pack option instead, recalculate the number of packs from that option's actual unit count.

Make the receiving schedule useful

Include zone, product link or SKU, length, cover, approved settings, installed lamp count, spare count and requested pack option. Split delivery quantities by building or phase if needed. On arrival, reconcile the labels and counts against this schedule before allocating stock to installers.

Pricing requests should state whether a quantity means individual tubes or packs. For mixed-model projects, attach the separate rows instead of submitting one combined quantity without a product breakdown.
